Well, I got almost the entire team through! We did have a last-minute pick-up - Pierce the Bisharp - who was going to replace Annie, but he fell to That Damn Avalugg after sweeping almost the entire gym and saving my rather-weak-to-Ice team (Lucky ended up delivering the final blow). So, here's the final group! Kale, obviously, is my starter, Balsamic is from route 6, Amaranth from route 7, and Annie from route 8, Lucky we picked up in route 10 (and I was so glad I got an Eevee first shot that he got his name), and Holly I actually picked up from Ambrette Town after picking up the Good Rod, so she was one of the few intentional pick-ups.

And they managed to stick it out throughout the Plot, survived Victory Road, and demolished the Elite Four and Champion (VERY DAMN CLOSELY at one point, I was healing Annie up and she took a Head Smash from the champion's Tyrantrum that would have OHKOed her if it wasn't for holding on due to her full affection in Amie!) So, this gijinka team is nicknamed We Who Survived.

Kale: Kale is the veteran and leader of the team (although not the oldest - that would be Annie), and takes his job Seriously. Despite a love for relaxation and calm, he would absolutely not hesitate to jump in to save... anyone, really. He's pretty much a gentle bruiser, as well as being the most physically strong member of the team (seriously, he is my only dedicated Physical Attacker XD).

Design notes: Chesnaught lends itself exceedingly well to knight armour, but since I tend to try for more modern designs, that wasn't going to work, heh. I ended up using the patterning on his shell as accents on his jacket, and left the rest relatively neutral. Was tossing up between white and brown hair, but really, there's already a bit of white hair going on XD

Amaranth and Balsamic: Okay, so Amaranth and Balsamic have to kind of be talked about together here, since the two of them almost single-handedly swept everything Flare had (aside from Houndoom, which Lucky tackled, and Manectric, which usually went between Kale and Holly - once she evolved, anyway). So, they're basically a matched pair, and they're pretty much those Wonder Twin types that can practically read each other's minds. They do basically everything together - tackling Shalour City Gym, taking down Flare - and are probably the ones most likely to be seen joined at the hip forever. Foreeeeveeeer. Individually, Balsamic is the hot-headed, impulsive, mischievous, prank-loving one (true story, she took forever to catch, I thought that she was full of piss and vinegar, and so gave her that name), whereas Amaranth is much more chill and calms Balsamic down a little.

Design notes: Design-wise, also a matched pair! Amaranth's jacket and Balsamic's dress are the same length, they have similar pants/tights and boots, and Amaranth's collar mirrors Balsamic's scarf. I'm not 100% sold on Amaranth's undershirt, but Aromatisse DOES have yellow accents...

Holly: The last member to join the team, since basically everyone else was assembled before the second gym and she had to wait until almost up to the fourth. Sorry, Holly. She'd be a giant troll, but generally can't be bothered - still, she facilitates Balsamic's mischief-making, and probably gets on with her the best.

Design notes: So, Holly is a Poison-type first and foremost, so I wanted her to look kind of... sickly (pale and bone-thin) and sort of ragged, which matches Dragalge's whole kelp thing. So, her boots are kind of all over the place, and she has that kind of jacket thing that's very loose and wavery, plus a dress that is kind of. Fabric.

Lucky: Heh, as per my X run, my route 10 Eevee is the baby of the team. He was always going to be a Vaporeon (I ended up having to transfer a Water Stone across from X while I was evolving Amaranth, just so I'd have a Water-type by the time I needed to Surf!), so he was pretty much earmarked as 'vitally important' from early on (plus, I needed a Water type for Malva!), and so he's probably a little spoiled. However, he's also a DAMN good fighter, and probably holds the record for the most Amie-boosted crits, evasions, and recoveries of the game.

Design notes: Kind of plain, alas. Vaporeon's crest thing becomes a mohawk, and the rest just uses colours. Not every Eeveelution is easy to gijinka! (Espeon is damn near impossible.)

Annie: The oldest member of the team by virtue of... well... being a ghost, Annie is also damn protective of the kids (including Kale, who, uh, she is well aware of being able to completely destroy, thanks to poor Kale's 4x Flying weakness and her own Fighting immunity and Grass resistence...), and has tanked many a hard hit. She probably has a bit of a hero complex, actually, and would never give up if her teammates' lives were at stake (or, you know, the world).

Design notes: Sliiiightly more old-fashioned design? I guess? She is meant to be a fair bit older, and, you know, a ghost. Very colourful, though, to match her Bold nature!
